Did you know that...

  • 25% of low-income children do not see a dentist before entering school.
  • Low-income children are twice as likely to have untreated oral diseases than children not living in poverty.
  • Tooth decay is the single most chronic childhood disease, more prevalent than asthma and hay fever.
  • Over 50 million school hours are lost each year due to the effects of poor dental hygiene.

Well, whether you have or not help PGK strengthen communities by Adopting-A-Program for Health.

PGK'S Dental Hygiene Audio Smart-Kit

Designed to support PGK’s Health & Fitness Community Initiative, Dental Hygiene Audio Smart-Kit features PGK-themed artwork and critical information on the importance of children maintaining good dental hygiene. Its components include: a dental hygiene workbook containing lessons, crosswords, mazes and other puzzles that feature PGK trademarked characters. It also includes a free song download card., crayons, magnets/stickers, and of course a toothbrush.

P.G. the Kangaroo and his siblings Kelly and Kevin along with Dr. Gabby - Promiseland Park's resident dentist - and Captain Cavity all make valuable contributions while guiding children through important lessons on dental hygiene. The song download card contains a numerical code that can be entered at the PGKclubhouse.com website which allows for the free download of PGK Music Box's single, “Brush, Brush” - a fun and entertaining song that stresses the need for children to brush their teeth.

Hundreds of thousands of American children, because of factors such as poverty and lack of education, are unaware of the lifelong relationship between dental hygiene and their overall health. Consequently, they do not establish lifelong dental hygiene habits that contribute to their overall health and well-being. Statistics that demonstrate the difficulties some children have in maintaining good dental hygiene include the following:

  • 25% of low-income children do not see a dentist before entering school.
  • Low-income children are twice as likely to have untreated oral diseases than children not living in poverty.
  • Tooth decay is the single most chronic childhood disease, more prevalent than asthma and hay fever.
  • Higher levels of tooth decay are found in African American and Hispanic children with 80% of the decay being concentrated in 25% of children.
  • Over 50 million school hours are lost each year due to the effects of poor dental hygiene.

Statistics such as the ones listed above and an ongoing desire to empower children are inspirations for PGK’s Dental Hygiene Audio Smart-Kit.

Testimonials

"Promiseland Park's Pre-K and Kindergarten Audio Smart-Book is a meaningful educational workbook that, I believe, will support the development of literacy in our young readers.

As an educator and owner of an early childhood center, I believe in fostering reading through well-written books that support learning.

With this wonderful workbook PGK Educational Tools gives parents and teachers an opportunity to readily assess their children's level of literacy and mastery of other fundamental early education skills. PGK accomplishes this by providing instructional exercises and songs that are age-appropriate and fun.

I recommend Promiseland Park's Pre-K and Kindergarten Audio Smart-Book and support its use in early childhood education."
